About Pacific Lighthouse

Nestled along the picturesque marina at 1051 Pacific Marina in Alameda, California, Pacific Lighthouse stands as a beacon of authentic Cantonese cuisine, offering diners a harmonious blend of traditional flavors and waterfront charm. This spacious Chinese eatery has carved a niche for itself by specializing in two culinary cornerstones: meticulously crafted dim sum and fresh seafood dishes that celebrate the bounty of the Pacific. With its circular architecture framing panoramic marina views, the restaurant transforms meals into immersive experiences where the rhythm of lapping waves complements the vibrant energy of shared plates and steaming teapots.

At the heart of Pacific Lighthouse’s appeal lies its dedication to time-honored dim sum traditions. From the first bamboo basket that arrives at the table, guests embark on a journey through Cantonese culinary artistry. The menu features classics like har gow (translucent shrimp dumplings) and siu mai (pork-and-shrimp open-top dumplings), alongside inventive creations that balance texture and flavor. Steamed, fried, or baked, each bite-sized offering reflects the kitchen’s commitment to freshness, with many items prepared throughout the day to ensure peak quality. For seafood enthusiasts, the restaurant’s proximity to the water translates into exceptional dishes like Guilin Deep Fried Shrimp Balls, where plump crustaceans meet crispy exteriors, and Braised Whole Abalone with Shitake Mushrooms, a luxurious ode to umami-rich ingredients.

The ambiance strikes a deliberate balance between casual comfort and understated elegance, making it equally suitable for family celebrations and intimate dinners. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe the dining area in natural light during daytime service, while evening meals take on a more romantic character as marina lights twinkle across the water. The circular layout ensures most tables enjoy sightlines to the docks, creating a seamless connection between plate and environment. Service here operates with the warm efficiency characteristic of establishments that prioritize hospitality, whether guiding newcomers through dim sum selections or accommodating special requests for dietary preferences, including vegetarian and vegan adaptations of traditional dishes.

Beyond its daytime dim sum service, Pacific Lighthouse reveals additional depth through its extensive à la carte menu. Cantonese staples like clay pot rice and wok-tossed noodles share menu space with contemporary interpretations of regional favorites. The kitchen’s expertise with live seafood—a hallmark of authentic Chinese dining—shines in dishes that can be customized to highlight the day’s freshest catches. This versatility has cemented the restaurant’s reputation as a go-to destination for both brunch gatherings and multi-course dinners, with portion sizes that encourage communal dining and flavor profiles designed to satisfy both traditionalists and adventurous eaters.

Practical considerations enhance the overall experience: ample parking eliminates the stress of urban dining, while reservations help manage the popularity that comes with consistent quality. The inclusion of takeout and delivery options extends the restaurant’s reach beyond its physical location, allowing the flavors of the marina to travel to nearby homes and offices. Accessibility features ensure all guests can enjoy the waterfront setting, reflecting the establishment’s inclusive philosophy.

What truly distinguishes Pacific Lighthouse is its ability to honor culinary heritage while remaining responsive to modern dining trends. The menu’s vegetarian-friendly adaptations demonstrate this balance, offering plant-based versions of classic dishes without compromising authenticity. Seasonal specials and chef’s creations keep regular patrons engaged, while the reliable core menu provides comfort to those seeking familiar flavors. This duality—tradition and innovation, consistency and creativity—positions the restaurant as both a neighborhood staple and a destination worthy of cross-bay journeys.

As the sun sets over Alameda Marina, Pacific Lighthouse glows with the warmth of shared meals and culinary craftsmanship. It’s a place where the ritual of dim sum service meets the spontaneity of seafood feasts, where every dish tells a story of cultural preservation and gastronomic passion. Whether savoring a single basket of steamed dumplings or indulging in a multi-generational banquet, guests leave with more than satisfied appetites—they depart with a taste of Cantonese tradition, served against one of the Bay Area’s most serene backdrops. For reservations or inquiries, the restaurant welcomes calls to +1 510-263-9232, extending an invitation to experience where authentic flavors meet waterfront tranquility.

We came here a few months ago with a group and liked it so much, we came on our own today. The food here is very clean tasting, and they know how to cook seafood! Service was great and the ambiance is nice.

(Photo has blurred guests for privacy reasons) I had my wedding with about 100 attendees on a weekend in June 2026. I directly worked with the owner, Eric and the manger, Chen. Eric and Chen went above and beyond and made the stressful process of planning your own wedding a breeze. I contacted them about a year away from my wedding to book the event date and they were able to lock in my request. Periodically leading up to the event date, they were in communication with me to confirm logistics such as head count, food allergies, meal time, etc. They were very easy to work with and very flexible. On the day of, they allowed us to come the restaurant and set up our decorations early. They provided us with additional tables upon request such as a cocktail table, cake table, sign in table, etc. Chen and his staff members were constantly helping us out with various setup task and fulfilled our every need. Once the guest arrived and the event started, Chen ensured that the food came out exactly on time as we previously agreed upon. He was lovely and constantly checked in with my Wife and I to make sure we had everything that we needed. The food itself was amazing. We had a 10 course

We had a wonderful time from start to finish. The welcome was warm and the service throughout was attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, making it easy to settle in and enjoy the evening. Everything about the experience felt carefully considered. It was clear that a lot of care goes into making guests feel at home, and the whole evening flowed nicely. We left feeling satisfied and happy we made the trip.

Pacific Lighthouse offers a phenomenal experience that perfectly balances a refined, traditional atmosphere with exceptional service, making it a premier destination for authentic Cantonese cuisine. The meal begins with a beautifully comforting tofu and minced beef soup served in individual portions, setting a high standard for the courses to follow. Every dish is a masterclass in texture and flavor, from the incredibly crispy skin of the roasted pork belly to the succulent honey walnut shrimp and the perfectly prepared ginger scallion lobster. Standout selections like the tender poached chicken, vibrant sweet and sour pork, and a rich vegetable medley featuring wood ear mushrooms and bean curd sheets showcase the kitchen's dedication to quality ingredients and expert execution. Whether you are visiting for a family gathering or a special celebration, the generous portions and welcoming environment ensure a truly memorable experience.

Food and service is amazing. But too far for me, anything involving crossing the bay bridge is far considering bumping into traffic… However, we went on New Years at night wasn’t that bad (traffic). The food my brother in law ordered was very good however my personal favorites: Little piglet, Roast Duck, their vegetables dishes (got mom’s thumb up), fried rice, and noodle dish. By the way, their side dish while waiting for our food was very good. Pickled carrot and peanuts.
